"Boot Camp" - Learning to read and Write about Fiction
Description:
This unit will serve as our introduction to reading and writing about literature at the college level. Students will read multiple short stories from diverse authors and analyze how each author uses the elements of fiction (point of view, character, setting, structure, tone and style, symbolism and allegory, and idea or theme) to create a piece of literature. They will also develop their the use of these elements in their own writing.
